The business originally commenced trading in 1975 as McInerney & Donaldson in Bendigo, central Victoria. Current director Gary Frank purchased the business in 2000 and began to grow.

In 2005, the company was invited to join the renowned Laser Group as the Central Victorian representative of the franchise. In 2019, after Laser Plumbing & Electrical joined forces with O’Brien, the business rebranded and became O’Brien Electrical & Air Conditioning Bendigo. Since then, we have proudly expanded to now also trading as O’Brien Plumbing & HVAC Bendigo offering our customers a ‘one-stop shop’ for all of your trade needs. Meet the team

Dave Wishart

Dave started with us at O’Brien Electrical in 2020 when we expanded to ‘Electrical & Air Conditioning’ as a qualified Plumber and gas fitter, specialising in Air Conditioning/ Mechanical Plumbing. Since then, Dave has helped our Air Conditioning and Plumbing division grow immensely by helping the business expand to our second trading name, ‘O’Brien Plumbing & HVAC Bendigo’. Dave’s favourite thing about being a plumber is being able to help others when they are in need.

Martin Smith

Martin started with us in September 2022, when we first commenced our Plumbing & HVAC department as a qualified plumber. Since then, we have seen Martin grow into his role here with us at O’Brien and he has helped our plumbing division succeed, working in a variety of jobs from service and maintenance, domestic and businesses. Martin's favourite thing about being a plumber is the people he meets through the variety of work he does.

Chris Atkins

Chris started with us in 2022, as a qualified plumber and gas fitter, specialising in air Conditioning and mechanical plumbing. Chris has brought great value to our Air Conditioning and plumbing division of the company, and has helped us grow so much since he started. Chris’s favourite part of being a plumber is helping people make their house become a home. We are excited to see where Chris can take us in the future and to see how he continues to help our Plumbing & HVAC division grow.

Brock McInnes

Brock started with us in 2022, as a first year electrical apprentice. Since then, Brock has moved over to the plumbing & HVAC division, as a first year plumbing apprentice. We have seen Brock grow immensely throughout his first year of his apprenticeship with us, and we are super excited to now have him on our plumbing team. Brock's favourite part about being a plumber is the variety of work he does here at O’Brien, and that he gets to learn from our talented group of qualified plumbers. We are excited to watch Brock learn and grow throughout the rest of his plumbing apprenticeship with us.

Mitchell Neff

Mitchell started with us in 2023, joining our Plumbing & HVAC division as a qualified plumber & Gas Fitter. Specialising in general plumbing and Air Conditioning. Mitch has been a great addition to our plumbing team assisting us in being able to help more customers and expansion of our Plumbing & HVAC division. Since working with us, Mitch has learned new skills and his favourite part of being a plumber is that there is something new and different to do at work each and every day!
