From 1st July 2025, the Cheaper Home Batteries Program will kick in, making it more affordable than ever for Aussie homes and small businesses to add battery storage to their solar systems. This means even bigger energy savings, greater independence from the grid and a clearer path to a sustainable future.

What’s the Cheaper Home Batteries Program All About?
The Albanese Government has committed to slashing the up-front cost of approved home battery systems by around 30%, helping Australian households and businesses future-proof their energy use.
Here’s what you need to know:
🔋 30% off battery installations, delivered through Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs)
💸i.e. $4,000 off an 11.5 kWh battery or $3,000 off an 8 kWh battery (based on $370 per kWh for 2025)
🏡 Households with existing solar can save an additional to $1,100 per year (estimated)
☀️ New solar users could save up to $2,300 per year
🔌 One million batteries are expected to be installed by 2030
📅 Program launches 1st July 2025
Note – all savings are job specific and will be calculated at the time of quotation.
Am I Eligible for the Battery Discount?
