Sewer System Restoration
10 April 2026
Our client was experiencing ongoing and severe sewer blockages across their site. Drains were repeatedly backing up, causing operational disruption and increasing the risk of overflow and environmental contamination. Initial investigations identified the root cause as a collapsed boundary shaft. The structural failure had restricted sewer flow, allowing solids and waste to accumulate within the line. The blockage had escalated to a point where urgent intervention was required to stabilise the system and prevent further damage.
What was the solution?
-
Immediate Waste Transfer: We deployed vacuum tankers to safely remove and transfer all accumulated waste from the affected sewer system. This stabilised the site and mitigated immediate overflow risk.
-
Controlled Excavation: Once the system was cleared, we excavated the boundary shaft to fully expose the damaged structure. Inspection confirmed significant structural deterioration and collapse.
-
Complete Shaft Renewal: Rather than applying a temporary repair, we fully rebuilt and renewed the boundary shaft. The new installation restored structural integrity, ensured correct flow alignment, and brought the connection back to reliable operating condition.
Results
-
Full restoration of sewer flow
-
Elimination of recurring blockages
-
Reduced risk of overflow and environmental impact
-
Long-term structural solution implemented
The client now has a stable and compliant sewer connection with confidence in the system’s performance moving forward.
Key Learnings
-
Recurring blockages often indicate an underlying structural issue — not just a simple obstruction.
-
Boundary shafts are critical infrastructure and require periodic inspection.
-
Early intervention prevents costly escalation and environmental risk.
-
A permanent rebuild is often more economical long-term than repeated reactive maintenance.

Courtyard Drainage Solution
Our client identified an issue where rainwater was pooling in the corner of a courtyard, creating a persistent slip hazard for staff and visitors moving through the area. During rainfall, the water had nowhere to escape due to the flat surface and lack of a nearby drainage point, resulting in standing water remaining long after...
