Level 2 works involve connecting and disconnecting electrical systems to the network and we are committed to the integration and adherence to industry standards.

Level 2 Capabilities

Conducting installations, repairs, and maintenance of overhead or underground service lines that establish a connection between the electrical wiring on customers’ premises and the electricity network.

  • Installation, disconnection, connection and reconnection of overhead and underground service lines up to the point of supply.
  • Installation and removal of whole current metering equipment in accordance with the local distributor’s published standards.
  • Rectification of defect notices for significant non-conformance to specifications, material and/or project drawings.
  • We work with all major energy retailers.

The Concern

One of clients lost all power to their aged care facility, after hours on a Saturday.

The Steps We Took

  • After hours call received by our Account Manager
  • Dispatched the nearest O’Brien technician to attend the facility
  • Technician evaluated the power outage and advised a compromised mains supply was the cause
  • We assisted the communication between the local supply authority and the facility
  • We notified the property team of the period of power outage
  • We installed a temporary site generator for continuation of full power to the facility therefore ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the residents and staff
  • Once remediation works were completed over the following days, we restored normal power and removed the generator

The Outcome

The facility had a major power outage that could of potentially been dangerous to residents and a large expense to the facility. Our team was quick to respond and provided a solution to ensure limited power downtime.
